A blue and white cup with a crack at the rim mended with gold
Why gold?

A crack is not the end of the bowl

In Japan, a broken cup is mended with lacquer mixed with gold. The art is called kintsugi. The repair is not hidden. It becomes the most precious part of the object.

This is how I think about working with people. From loss, crisis or exhaustion you can build something with more awareness and strength than before. Psychology calls it post-traumatic growth. I call it the path.

How I work Philosophy of work

Principles of my work

I combine psychological knowledge and coaching tools with Japanese ideas: kintsugi, kaizen and Zen mindfulness. I draw on the psychology of change, on inspiration from the Gestalt approach and on many years of leading teams in international organisations. That makes our conversations both deep and practical: they begin with understanding and end with a concrete step.

Behind the way of the samurai, bushidō, lies an inner code: honesty, courage, respect and compassion. Bushidō says who I want to be. Kaizen suggests how to get there: in small, daily steps. Zen reminds me where that road happens: in the body, in the breath, here and now. These ideas gave rise to the the principles of my work.

Body and mindfulness

Emotions live in the body. I use mindfulness practices from the Zen tradition to return to the breath and to yourself.

Here and now

The past matters, but we work on what you can change today. As in Gestalt: through contact and awareness.

Kaizen

Change doesn't need a revolution. A small step every day is enough. After each session you get a task that carries our work into your life.
